A picture’s worth a thousand words, and at the Files & Film 2016: 3rd Annual Juried Photographic Art Show there’s no shortage of conversation. Among the many talented artists is one of my favorites, Michael Conway, who has photographed the area for decades and never ceases to delight (his work in the inaugural Fantastic Ekphrastic was is one example, and not only because I had the chance to write about it). Over 30 other artists —including Heidi Clapp Temple, featured online as one of our Femme Visuale’s — will also show their film and digital work. The MFA’s Robin O’Dell, Morean Art Center’s Beth Reynolds and Chuck Vosburgh (the latter also of TAPPA, the Tampa Area Professional Photographers Association) jury this show, which won a Best of the Bay in 2014. Herb Snitzer will present the Analog Award, given for film technique and hand photography only. Leslie Curran Gallery, 1431 Central Ave, St. Pete. 727-898-6061. interiormotivesstpete.com.
