SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 16

✔️  Bleachers w/Tove Styrke Jack Antonoff’s hot streak hasn’t cooled off, and will leave your ears ringing (and head spinning) well after the encore. A sophomore LP from Bleachers (Gone Now, released in June) has been one of the summer’s biggest indie-pop records, and we’re excited to see it come to life in sweaty fashion after Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Styrke opens the show. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) INFO

✔️  Awkward Age w/Broken Things/No Bueno/Sandspur City Expect the shop to look a little different (it got rearranged to protect vinyl from Irma) when Awkward Age welcomes Palmetto punks No Bueno — who are playing in support of a fantastically lo-fi four-song EP released in April — to St. Pete. Sunshine City pop-punk makers Broken Things round it all out with Tampa vets Sandspur City. (Planet Retro, St. Petersburg) INFO

Craig Xen w/Will Maticz/Lil Toenail XXXTentacion collaborator Craig Xen goes from one hurricane ravaged city (Houston) to another that was spared (Tampa) for a show alongside an absurd West Palm Beach rapper who calls himself Lil Toenail — listen to Mr. Toenail’s super-aggro anal sex-requesting “Suck My Nuts” for a taste. (Transitions Art Gallery at Skatepark of Tampa, Tampa) INFO

✔️  Fr33dback w/Infinite Third/Pajamas Green Bench fared well in the storm, and barring delays in the restoration of power this electro wet dream of a bill should go off as normal when three acts prominently featured in CL plug in, load up Ableton and get glitchy for St. Pete as it eases into an Irma-free weekend. (Green Bench Brewing Co., St. Petersburg) INFO

Halcyon w/The Cheaters Steph Callahan, Tonya Floyd, Sandi Grecco, Chrissy DeRado, and Stephanie Wood — all members of beloved Bay area bands Halcyon and Someday Souvenir — have joined forces to form The Cheaters, which will play originals and covers for Skipper’s Smokehouse, which is all systems go. The venue is also organizing a supply drive for the Florida Keys before delivering all collected items to the battered region. (Skipper’s Smokehouse, Tampa) INFO

✔️  The Melvins w/Spotlights CL has talked with the Melvins PR team, and the band is all set to be in Florida and support its first-ever double LP — A Walk With Love and Death — which Buzz, Dale and Red Kross’ Steve McDonald have been banging around on a 12-week tour of North America. Read Gabe’s interview with McDonald here. (Orpheum, Ybor City) INFO

Luxury Mane Does St. Pete rock outfit Luxury Mane have a show at hometown bikini bar Tina’s Angels? Probably not, since it’s been shut down, but the band is playing Smokin’ 19 at the same address, and we fully expect the shimmery Lux sound to go over just fine when the bikers start to pour into the BBQ bar. (Smokin’ 19, St. Petersburg) INFO

Brad Paisley w/Dustin Lynch/Chase Bryant/Lindsay Ell When it comes to radio country, Nationwide jingle-writer Brad Paisley is better than most. A lot of that has to do with his honest songwriting (you should hear the way he dug himself out of the hole a 2013 single, “Accidental Racist,” created) and ridiculous skill on the electric guitar (the 44-year-old is one of the best in the game). A new LP, Love and War, has collabs with Mick Jagger, Timbaland and John Fogerty on it, so expect Paisley to be all over the place at this one. (MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, Tampa)  INFO

Crooked Thumb Oktoberfest w/Have Gun, Will Travel/Shawn Kyle A new crack at washing some wurst, spaetzle and sauerkraut down with a few pints of Shade Tree IPA after Irma cancelled this party last week. The rescheduled shindig is still set to be soundtracked by Have Gun, Will Travel and Tampa songwriter Shawn Kyle. We’ll be the guy in a broken-down lawn chair counting his blessings at this one. (Crooked Thumb Brewery, Safety Harbor) INFO

✔️  Band of Sorrows w/The Woodwork/Kristopher James Former Wholetone-ers come together under a new moniker (The Woodwork) to make Florida folk that’s mixed in with some classical, Latin and indie-rock vibes as New World Brewery enters its last week of Ybor City existence before relocating to Sulphur Springs. Tampa Bay Americana acts Band of Sorrows and Kristopher James also get their final licks in at the 22-year-old live music institution. (New World Brewery, Ybor City)  INFO

✔️  Row Jomah Album Release Party w/Joose You can normally find Austin Llewellyn playing in the Dunedin Brewery house band on Wednesdays, but he’ll be behind the keyboard with Row Jomah on Saturday when the Clearwater-based five-piece releases a new, 12-track album of DMB-loving, horn and funk infused pop-rock. Soul and jazz outfit Joose opens the show. (Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin) INFO

Fast Foreword (A Tribute To Kenny Chesney) Your reaction to the phrase “Kenny Chesney tribute band” will be the compass that’ll send you scurrying for (or driving away from) Clearwater Beach, but if you need a better country show, then you might want to check out Brad Paisley in Tampa. (Shephard’s Beach Resort, Clearwater Beach) INFO
