The Tampa Bay local music community was shocked earlier this month at the news that Candy Bars drummer Ryan Fujiki-Hastings had died in a motorcycle accident. Seen often at New World with his magazine-beautiful, sweetly down-to-earth wife, Tanya, and their equally adorable baby girl, Anaïs, he was a fixture in the scene and respected by fellow musicians, his talent admired outside his intimate circle in the New Granada family. All who knew him will miss his acerbic humor, which almost belied his genuine soul and generous heart. A Ryan Fujiki-Hastings Memorial Fund is currently being set up for baby Anaïs and the Fujiki-Hastings family. Send contributions to the Fujiki-Hastings Family Trust; c/o The Yates Law Firm, P.A.; 320 W Kennedy Blvd., Suite 520; Tampa, FL 33606; or donate online through fujikihastings.com. Proceeds from sales of the Candy Bars' album will also go to the trust. You can find the album at facebook.com/Candybarstampa.
