For 10 years, the Art Programs Division of Tampa has chosen a different photographer each year, appointed them “Photographer Laureate,” and charged them with the task of capturing what living in Tampa meant at that specific time. Inspired by the Farm Security Administration’s Photographic Program of the '30s and '40s, responsible for classic Depression-era photos like Dorothea Lange’s "Migrant Mother" and Gordon Parks’ reimagined "American Gothic," Tampa’s program, which ran from 2003-2013, is now having a greatest hits collection of its own at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts until October 5, featuring 50 selections from artists such as Marion Belanger, Jeremy Chandler and more.
