As much as we love to make up spiffy, eye-catching headlines for these, Tampa Theatre has us beat with “Caskablanca” for their annual WineFest. Wine meets food meets film, inside the theater and out, with parings, boutique wines, silent auctions and a full meal inside the theater. Excuse us, um, “Rick’s Cafe”. The weekend ends with a showing of the film, and throughout the event there’s something for everyone — and every budget — to drink and enjoy. This fundraiser keeps the grand dame of Franklin Street prosperous. You think it’s cheap to run a zillion-year-old theater without RPX/SuperDuperDolby in Tr-Digital Widgets? It is not. They need you to drink wine to help them. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but Sunday. Or, you know, Friday or Saturday. Casablanca attire and costumes encouraged.
