Hit musical Dear Evan Hansen won six 2017 Tony Awards, but its cast recording also won a 2018 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. And that’s why it’s kind of expensive to see the show during its April 9-14 run at Tampa’s Straz Center for the Performing Arts (tickets were starting at $178.75 when CL visited strazcenter.org on Tuesday morning).

Poor people are in luck, however, since producers have announced a digital lottery that will let lucky fans buy tickets for just $25.

According to a release, the digital lottery will begin accepting entries 48 hours prior to the first performance (April 9, 7:30 p.m. EDT) in Tampa and will be accepted until 9 a.m. EDT the day before the performance. Fans that have been selected will be notified daily via email and can then purchase up to two tickets at $25 each. The release adds that the ticket lottery will continue on a rolling basis for every performance in the engagement.

Entrants must be at least 18 years old, and a valid, non-expired photo ID will be used to match lottery purchasers with their tickets.

More information is available via luckyseat.com/dearevanhansen, and remember Tampa fans: "It takes a little patience, takes a little time. A little perseverance and a little uphill climb."
