A new trailer for a Tampa-based Twitter thread that has become a movie was posted to—well, Twitter—this morning. Yes, the highly-anticipated cinematic depiction of “Zola” now has a second trailer.

The film is centered on a viral, 148-tweet thread from Detroit waitress A'ziah "Zola." In the thread, Zola tells a mostly true, and somewhat embellished story of a strip-club hopping road trip with a new "sex worker" friend, which starts at a Hooters in Tampa.

In the new trailer, a few local landmarks are clearly visible like the “Jesus Saves” signs, as well as the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

The film, released by A24, is directed by by Janicza Bravo and written by Bravo along with playwright Jeremy O. Harris ("Daddy," "Slave Play"), The titular character of Zola is played by Taylour Paige and Riley Keough plays her new pal Stefani, who sparks the whole road trip.

The film's first trailer was released back in August of 2020.

This film doesn’t have an official release date, but is expected to debut this summer.
