Tampa’s first ever Pride on the River is happening Saturday, Sept. 18 bringing a full day of events to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
Coinciding with the Pride on the River Boat Parade Straz Center’s Riverwalk stage is hosting some of the area’s best queer performers during “Werk the Riverwalk” starting a noon.
Soothing and soulful singer-songwriter Guianna kicks things off followed by drag performers Ashlee T. Bangkx, Mark Castle, TeMonet and Adriana Sparkle doing their thing while R&B singer Christopher Knolton provides the soundtrack. Tampa’s own Queen of Pop, Jeremy Gloff, hot off the release of his 23rd album Burn It Up! Turn It Up!, brings a high energy performance to the stage before the drag show comes back to finish the free show.
Gloff told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay he is also performing later, with the added “and friends,” that day at Armature Works’ Riverside Festival which “Drag Race”and “Dancing Queen” star Alyssa Edwards headlines. CL has reached out to organizers and will update when the full list of performers is available.
