Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison battle it out with dance, music in Tampa

Mayumana's 'Currents' comes to Tampa for one show only at the Straz Center.

Tesla v. Edison? That's a throwdown we can get behind. Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla's legendary duel for supremacy in electricity, aka the War of Currency, served as muse for Mayumana: Currents, a high-energy mixed-media stage show. The Jerusalem Festival of Lights commissioned the show in 2012, which mixes custom instruments, video, and 11 performers in pretty much perpetual motion.
