Old Seminole Heights is one of Tampa’s most famous neighborhoods. This weekend gives outsiders a chance to see why, when Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association (OSHNA) stages its 26th annual home tour.
Self-guided, the tour features 11 stops, including seven homes like one first owned by Cecil O. Post of Tampa’s Post Motor Company. Owners of the Oasis liquor store on Florida Avenue, and Merle Oliver, assistant to the President of the University of Tampa, were among other owners. These days, the 1,100-square-foot home belongs to a couple who’ve poured shared passions for architecture and historic homes into the project.
The map of homes and info for the self-guided tour are being distributed at Rogers Park Golf Course, a historic site in itself in the middle of the city.
HAM radio demos, plus activations from TECO, Tampa’s Community Emergency Response Team and tree program will be set up at 22nd Street Park.
An afterparty featuring music from Deb Rupy is set for Corner Club Cafe on the corner of Sligh Avenue and 15th Street—and proceeds will benefit the First Tee program at Rogers Park.
