Twenty-six Tampa Bay artists contributed to the St. Petersburg Mycology Society’s “Fantastic Fungi” art show opening happening this weekend. Head to The Wayward Goose in St. Pete for a fun night of cocktails, bar games, and fungus-inspired art. Watch the artists—including ceramic artist Calan Ree, whose switched it up and went with torn paper and ink collage for the show—take something as gross as fungus and turn it into something beautiful. If “Fantastic Fungi” the documentary (now on Netflix) taught us anything, it’s that fungus doesn’t have to be gross; it can be beautiful, magical, mysterious and healing.
