One of the most popular steakhouses in Tampa Bay is making waves with its second concept.

The owners of Clearwater-based Bascom's Chop House will open Oaks on 4th, a brand new restaurant that's aiming for a December 2022 opening. This new eatery will debut out of the former Quickies BBQ restaurant at 4351 4th St. N, although renovations might render the space unrecognizable.

Paul Bullard of Bascom's told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that the Oaks on 4th menu is seasonal, chef-driven and "refined rustic." Guests can expect an extensive menu of small plates, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and of course, steaks, when Oaks on 4th debuts next month.

According to Bullard, some of the most exciting dishes are Oaks on 4th's smoked beef bacon with apple slaw and chargrilled New Orleans-style oysters loaded with butter and bubbly parmesan cheese.  A "nibble section" (separate from the appetizers) will be comprised of affordable small plates like pimento cheese spread, grilled artisan bread and chili citrus olives.

This is the Bullard family's second restaurant in the Tampa Bay area, following the opening of veteran steakhouse Bascom's Chop House in 2001. Paul and Burton Bullard appointed former Bascom's executive chef Tony Bonanno to run the Oaks on 4th kitchen. A few more steakhouse employees are also expected to make the transition to its St. Pete sibling restaurant.

Although Oaks on 4th will boast the same eye for detail and exemplary service as its steakhouse sibling, future customers can expect a more casual atmosphere.  An extensive craft cocktail and wine program will compliment its brunch and dinner menu, offering expected drinks like martinis and old fashioneds.

Ahead of next month's soft opening, Oaks on 4th is currently hiring for both back of house and front of house staff, as interested folks can email [email protected] for more information.

Although its post-soft opening hours aren't set in stone, Bullard predicts that the new eatery will be open from 4 p.m.-10 p.m. throughout the week and all day-long (with late nights) on weekends.
