The longtime Tampa Bay tapas bar and restaurant that holds the Guinness World Record for the largest sangria pitcher ever made is evolving once again. After service concludes on Saturday, Ceviche plans to close the doors of its South Tampa location at 2500 W. Azeele St., where the restaurant brand has operated since moving away from its original home in the neighborhood — South Howard Avenue — back in 2012.
With the South Tampa outpost’s lease expiring at the end of June, Ceviche made the decision to relocate — primarily to position itself for more growth, according to a news release.
The new location is to be announced, but the brand is working on another site in South Tampa. Wherever Ceviche ends up, its latest outpost will be the first to feature the updated, modernized vision that parent company Caledon Concepts has been developing for the past year.
“We are very excited for this new chapter and to continue the Ceviche legacy in Tampa Bay,” said Caledon Concepts President Lee Karlins said in a statement. “We feel that the best is yet to come, and we look forward to welcoming you to the new location very soon.”
Part of the family of restaurants that also owns Rococo Steak and was established in 1997, Ceviche operates its other locations in downtown St. Pete and Orlando.
