We’re hardly a month into 2025 and The Dirty Nil—a punk trio based in Ontario (lucky bastards)—has already penned the most poignantly relatable song of the year.

In crisp, latter-day Warped Tour fashion, the brand new “I Hate The Internet” compares Wi-Fi to God and predicts how the future has no meaning except for next-day shipping, which is also pretty iffy these days (thanks a lot, Joe Biden).

Considering the TikTok ban that hardly lasted 16 hours and Meta ixnaying fact checkers, shit’s about to get even weirder, so if the band’s new single is played in between tracks from its latest album Free Rein to Passions this weekend, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to take that as a sign to sell your computer and buy a guitar (h/t Tom Petty) in 2025.
