Parker Millsap—who’s headed to Safety Harbor this weekend—received something most musicians can’t brag about: a shoutout from Sir Elton John.

“Last night in Atlanta I saw one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Parker Millsap and Sarah Jarosz. Both were astonishingly good,” the icon said after a concert in 2016. “It restored my faith in music.”

That tour also stopped at Skipper’s but Millsap (sans Jaroz) is at Tampa Bay’s other quirky venue this weekend. In April, the 27-year-old released his fifth album—produced by John Agnello who worked with Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth, and Waxahatchee—which Rolling Stone magazine called a “pristine listening experience.”
