Almost a decade ago, Chris Wood and Theo Severson—collectively known as the Crate Brothers—got their start DJing in revered Ybor City clubs like Czar. When that room closed, they found First Chance Last Chance just two blocks away. That venue was where Emo Night Tampa got its start.

Now the duo is headed to the fanciest, schmanciest part of town when it brings the party to Alter Ego, just behind the Tampa Edition in the Water Street district.

“Gonna do a classic party like we used to do. Just us, two playing your favorites, b-sides, deep cuts and everything in between,” Emo Night Tampa wrote on social media.

The set happens on the lounge’s industry night, meaning folks in the biz get 25% off drinks and half-off food.

The gig, which runs from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. is also part of a busy weekend at Alter Ego where Eddie B. Swift (who headlines the Louder Than Love freestyle party at Crowbar on Friday, Dec. 6) is set to spin on Saturday, Dec. 7.
