Father’s Day is a holiday where dads typically want to be left the fuck alone, but poppas with love of history and beer may want to check out the Tampa Bay History Center. That’s where singing troubadour Bill Schustik is set to belt out sea shanties and pirate tunes for anyone who’ll listen.

The Lewiston, New York folkie has been at it for more than 40 years and says that the tools of his trade “include a magnificent baritone voice, a keen sense of drama, a colorful array of folk instruments, and a deep abiding love for traditional American lore.”

He’s also influenced by Oscar-winning actor, and Christmas icon balladeer Burl Ives, which is probably a selling point for anyone who’s made it this far in the post.

Anyone who heads out to TBHC on Father’s Day (that's June 16) to check out the “History by the Pint: Beer and Brewing in Tampa Bay” exhibit will get a free souvenir pint glass. Coppertail Brewing is offering tastings of its Free Dive IPA from noon to 2 p.m., so you should be able to catch a buzz for free, too.
