This year has been a big fat reminder that Tampa, for all its ills, has cultivated some musical giants. Blake High School graduate Doechii is up for four Grammys, indie-rock singer-songwriter Aidan Bissett toured with Coin earlier this year, and St. Peteโ€™s own Mindi Abair can powerfully channel just about any saxophonist you can imagine.

We have the 55-year-old to thank for helping to bring live music back from the restraints of Floridaโ€™s very brief COVID-19 lockdowns too, as she once rocked a handful of intimate sets at Ruth Eckerd Hallโ€™s new-at-the-time cabaret theater when social distancing was still all the rage.

As for this gig, expect a total holiday-themed shindig, which will undoubtedly include Abairโ€™s song โ€œI Canโ€™t Wait For Christmas.โ€ Oh, and if youโ€™re one of those people who gets depressed this time of year, you can take part in a wine tasting with Ms. โ€œPretty Good for a Girlโ€ herself for an extra $89.

Tickets to see Mindi Abair play Bilheimer Capitol Theatre in Clearwater on Friday, Dec. 20 are still available and start at $39.
