Tampa Bay’s indie-pop scene is healthy, but there was a golden era last decade when bands like Grecian Urns, Happiness Machine, and most recently Jackson Davis, shined brightly with exuberant new albums seemingly released every year.

Kathleen and Nick Arnal now make up Team Callahan (and recently picked up Daniel Williams on drums), and after writing a 2018 love letter to home (Dog Days) the married couple and former members of Happiness Machine are finally back in town for what’s easily the best show happening in Tampa on Friday night.

“Being back and doing music here again really feels like a homecoming moment. This area means so much to us. It's where we cut our teeth musically and it's always provided a dynamic and supportive music scene to grow as musicians in,” Kathleen told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

“We've mostly focused on the recording side of Team Callahan the last several years so we're looking forward to being a part of this musical community again through playing out and sharing our music in a live setting. It's been a long time coming.”
