Gabe – Barry Adamson, I Will Set You Free (2012)
Long awaited solo release from the veteran who has served lengthy tours of duty as both a member of ground-breaking post-punk outfit Magazine as well as a part of Nick Cave's stunning backing band, The Bad Seeds. Adamson shifts gears like never before on his current release. Balls out Iggy Pop-style rockers are nestled between quieter, more laid back selections and Sly Stone-like raveups. To say I Will Set You Free is rocking my world (and my Monday) this week is an understatement; as the title suggests, the album is setting me free from the normal workweek doldrums with a very potent shot.
