Supergroups are fun, especially when they involve the synthesis of three rock giants — guitarist Guthrie Govan (Asia, GPS, The Young Punx), bassist Bryan Beller (Dethklok, Satriani, Vai, Dweezil Zappa) and drummer Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson) — who got together after the 2011 Winter NAMM show. The Aristocrats are named after the famous “Aristocrats” joke, and their songs often feature double entendres.

The cuts, especially those from a June 2019 album, You Know What…?, are no joke, however, and there’ll be a lot of headbanging at the Brass Mug on Friday after Steve Morse and Jeff beck admirer Travis Larson opens the show.

The Aristocrats w/Travis Larson Band. Fri. Aug. 16, 7 p.m. $25. Brass Mug, Tampa. brassmug.ticketbud.com.
