About a year ago, American Authors and Magic Giant (pictured) teamed up for a single, “Rocketman,” that showcases a sound which Rolling Stone once called “somewhere between the Avett Brothers and the Chemical Brothers.” If you’re not sure how you feel about that, then maybe just turn on the innocuous sounds of Ohio pop outfit Public, which opens the show.
