Florida reggae band The Supervillains has been around for a bit, and there’s a MySpace page to prove it. Over the course of those years, the St. Cloud five-piece has proven itself to be more than a group of beach bar white boys by opening for major players like Fishbone and The Wailers.

Together since 1998, Supervillains have released several reggae-inspired, ska-ish albums but the real fun comes from the band’s covers. Who knew all Billy Joel’s “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)” needed was horns? You oughta know by now…to wear your mask when socially distancing in the courtyard at this downtown St. Petersburg venue.

The Supervillains w/Badda Skat. Friday, May 7. 8 p.m. $15. Jannus Live, St. Petersburg). jannuslive.com
