VFWs are the new American Legions, right? No? Either way, Brian Schanck (of St. Petersburg bands The Same, Zulu Wave), is bringing one hell of a local rock bill to VFW 39. Jensen Serf Company (a band CL higHlighted in last week’s Music Issue) brings the psychedelic surf-rock vibes while Blestian dishes out the electro-pop that it is releasing at an alarmingly fast rate in 2018.

Grunge-gaze trio Sentries — made up up scene vets Daniel Williams on drums, bassist Nate Murray and frontman David Teten — plays a rare live gig before Alexander Charos’s The Venus project closes a night of cheap drinks and good hangs out with a set of Joe Meek-inspired '60s space rock.
