In his late-40s, Tampa songwriter Jeremy Gloff was feeling tired and uninspired. But he found a spark in Bartow where he and fellow songwriter Shae Krispinky visited on a whim.

“I felt at peace for the first time in ages. The sun set and we went for a late night dinner at Perkins. Back in my hometown, Perkins was the only place that was open late night. Unintentionally, I felt a piece of myself I hadn’t felt in a really long time,” Gloff told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

So he kept driving back over the next few months, bringing new friends along and finding new things to love. In between the trips, he wrote the tunes for Road To Bartow (the album runs 50 minutes, just like the drive).

Jeremy Gloff’s Road To Bartow album release show at Disco Dolls in Tampa on Saturday, Aug. 12 is sold-out.
