With Tampa Bay’s live music scene coming back, it’s no surprise to see that Yuengling Center is ready to make its return to hosting concerts, too.
Today,1828 Entertainment and WRLD said that the Memphis-born rapper Moneybagg Yo will kick off his tour at the Yuengling Center at University of South Florida in September.
This will be the Yuengling Center’s first full-blown concert since the onset of COVID-19 last year, and Kelli Yeloushan—Director of Event Management at Vinik Sports Group which operates the venue—told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that capacity for the show is set at 5,900.
Moneybagg Yo’s first two projects, Federal 3X and 2 Heartless, debuted at No. 5 and No. 16 respectively on the Billboard 200. His third album, Time Served, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in January 2020.
The rapper released his fourth studio album, A Gangsta's Pain, in April 2021, which featured guest appearances from Kaash Paige, BIG30, Future, Polo G, Lil Durk, Jhené Aiko and Pharrell Williams. The album has since become his first No. 1 project, selling 110,000 units during its debut on the Billboard 200.
The venue asks that attendees follow COVID-19 safety protocols as the virus continues to spread in Florida. Details on how to enjoy the concert safely, and any updates based on guidance from local and state health officials can be found here.
