Of all the rock greats to emerge from the 1960s, none made the transition to the video era as successfully as David Bowie. After all, the man who created Ziggy Stardust was a natural performer, and when MTV became all the rage, he was willing and able to make visual statements that were as stimulating as his sounds. This new double-disc compilation is a CD of 19 tracks and a DVD of 14 videos for hits such as "Fashion," "Under Pressure," "China Girl" and "Modern Love." Granted, the technology dates these clips, but from an artistic standpoint they hold up nicely. Of course, for those of us who grew watching them on MTV there's the nostalgia factor as well. 4 stars
