The Rolling Stones are going to play Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium in the near future.
And if the iconic, aging rock and roll band doesn’t, then Raymond James Stadium—and the city as a whole—is going to look really fucking dumb.
The band’s iconic tongue logo is all over the Tampa Riverwalk near Tampa Armature Works, and a banner is hanging on the Beck building near Ulele. The Times has a pic of another Stones banner hanging at Raymond James Stadium.
The troll job, err, tease, comes just hours after Raymond James Stadium announced a summertime show from another classic-rock band, Guns N’ Roses,. The band itself also posted a Twitter message with the caption, “Feeling Restless.”
What’s more is that a Stones fan site that doesn’t get it wrong very often is predicting a Tampa concert along with shows in Austin, Detroit and Louisville.
So, yeah. See if you can get a loan, Stones fans—we can hear your guys knocking.
