Musical genius Todd Rundgren is playing two shows at downtown Clearwater’s Bilheimer Capitol Theatre on Oct. 24-25.
Tickets to see Todd Rundgren play Clearwater's Bilheimer Capitol Theatre on Oct. 24-25, 2021 are on sale now, starting at $39.
In 1973, the Philadelphia-hailed “I Saw The Light” songsmith released A Wizard, A True Star, which remains one of the trippiest albums in rock history—maybe tied with Vanilla Fudge’s eponymous 1967 debut album. A pretty large portion of the progressive rock icon’s fanbase gave up on him at that point. Remember when Bob Dylan went electric for the first time and a bunch of his fans turned their backs on him? Yeah, same dealio for ol’ Todd.
The soon-to-be inducted member of the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame is no stranger to Tampa Bay, having played here at least twice a year since 2016 (we don’t count 2020 for obvious reasons). But for this tour, Rundgren will Rundgren perform solo hits and presumptuously salute his days in Utopia in some way. The 73-year-old will perform different sides of A Wizard, A True Star during his two-night stint—side A on opening night, and side B on closing night.
These shows were originally set for last year before being fully canceled in October. But after a virtual tour earlier this year, Todd must have had a change of heart—and a vaccine.
