Ho99o9 w/Injury reserve L.A. by way of Newark, New Jersey duo Ho99o9 return to St. Pete’s Local 662 where they put on a haunting show last October. The pair — comprised of dual frontmen theOGM and Eaddy — are touring with a drummer (Brandon Pertzborn, who has played with Doyle and Black Flag) and have a new LP (United States of Horror, released in May) of almost genre-less punk rock and rap that’s as volatile as any hardcore out there and angrier than the most indignant anti-everything protestor. Read our Q&A with the guys here. (The Local 662, St. Petersburg) INFO

Ann Wilson Ann Wilson, one half of the band Heart, has long been a fixture of the Rock and Roll world. However, between Ann’s solo commitments and a family disagreement (long story short, a physical altercation between family members after a August 26 show in Washington), the band has been in an indefinite hiatus. For diehard Heart fans, this may be the last chance for a while to see one half of the duo that spawned the hits “Barracuda” to “Crazy on You.” Read our Q&A with Wilson here. Third Eye Blind w/Silversun Pickups If you’ve ever owned a worn out copy of Third Eye Blind’s self-titled 1997 debut LP, then you’re going to want to be at Coachman Park when frontman Stephan Jenkins leads Clearwater through every single one of the album’s anthemic choruses (think “Jumper,” “Semi-Charmed Life,” and How’s It Going To Be”) for a legion of adoring fans. Still-buzzing indie rockers Silversun Pickups open the show. (Coachman Park, Clearwater) INFO

Awkward Age w/Expert Timing/Gutless We’re officially through making “retirement” jokes about Tampa pop-punk outfit Awkward Age and dead set on embracing the fact that it seems like the group — led by magnetic frontman Victor Alvarez — is back for good. The addition of wife-husband duo Expert Timing makes this free show feel extra celebratory and the fact that Gainesville’s Gutless who just put out the prettiest 15-minutes of emo we’ve heard all year (Some Voids..., released in March). Benny Benassi As is the the theme for this week, we have yet another former Sunset Music Festival performer returning to our area when Benny Benassi takes over the Ritz in Ybor. The Italian DJ and producer rose to fame in the early 2000s, prior to EDM’s mainstream appeal in the United States. Behind hits like “Satisfaction,” Benassi has become one of the mainstays of EDM touring across the globe, still making main stage appearances at festivals in every corner of the map. For only $20, it’s a great chance to catch a big time DJ in a smaller club venue. (The Ritz, Ybor City) — LJ INFO

The Record Shindig w/DJ Kalani UPDATE: Due to weather this event has been moved to next Saturday. Do you ever wish there was a bar inside of your favorite record store? This is about as close as you’re gonna get as local shops Daddy Kool, Bananas, Planet Retro, Microgroove and Steelworker link up with Bradenton’s Jerk Dog Records for an afternoon of crate digging at Cage Brewing. T.I. w/Young Dro/Tokyo Jetz/London Jae/Translee/RaRa/Yung Booke While many people know him from his TV show Family Hustle or his many movie appearances, it’s important to remember the musical relevance of Atlanta rapper T.I. Since 2001, T.I. has dropped nine albums, seven of which charted in the top five on the Billboard 200. His classic hits span over decade, with songs like “Bring Em Out,” “Live Your Life,” “Dead and Gone” and “Whatever You Like.” He’s a fixture in the Atlanta rap scene and highly respected among the top in the game. Fans traveling to St Pete’s Jannus Live this weekend will be treated to one of the OGs in the rap game. Joining him is fellow Atlanta veteran and collaborator Young Dro, who has been in the news lately not for music, but for posting an Instagram photo in which he appears to be wearing a men’s romper. If T.I.’s presence isn’t enough to draw you, perhaps the chance to see one of these outfits in person will. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) —LJ INFO

Prohibition Night w/Dean Johanesen & The 24 Hour Men Roots and circus swing songwriter Dean Johanesen is already pretty old-timey, but he’ll really turn it up for this speakeasy show with his trio (upright bass player Park Pezzo and drummer Max Kelly), who’ll also be joined by violinist Jason Baker.
