Tampa Bay is low key one of the best places to be a ukulele enthusiast, and downtown Clearwater is doing

its part this weekend with “Ukulele Fest in the District” taking over Cleveland Street.

The day-long festival features bands strumming, for free, on the street starting at breakfast (11:30 a.m. with Two Happy Ukers) all the way until a special show at Peace Memorial church where father-daughter super duo Steve and Amanda Boisen will play ahead harmony-making, Provo, Utah acoustic outfit The Birdwatchers.

And if you see only one uke-er this weekend, make sure it’s one-man band Ukulele Russ who’s in from Alaska and rocking for five hours on the 400 block.

Free ukulele lesions and the promise of a ukulele stroll are on deck, too. More information is at ukulelefestinthedistrict.com.
