If you’ve ever swung into Lakeland’s Union Hall for some jazz on a Tuesday night, you’ve probably caught a set from Swan City Jazz Project, a five-piece ensemble oft-complimented by other jazz artists from Lakeland and beyond.
Swan City Jazz is no stranger to the local music scene, playing around Lakeland and the Tampa Bay region, including a November gig at Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe in November.
This Saturday, a pared-down trio version—pianist Jody Marsh, bassist Phillip Booth and drummer Louie Magy—will play the Lakeland Downtown Farmer’s Curb Market. The open-air market, featuring the work of local artisans and the bounty of local farmers, encourages proper social distancing and the use of masks and hand sanitizer while at the Market. All vendors are required to wear masks.
Swan City Jazz Saturday, Jan. 9. Free. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Outside Fresco’s, Lakeland downtownfarmerscurbmarket.org
