On Wednesday, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz threatened Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen before his congressional testimony in a now deleted tweet, and even though the congressman has since apologized, he reportedly was overheard telling the president moments after sending the tweet that he "was happy to do it for you."
According to the Atlantic's Edward-Isaac Dovere, the conversation between Gaetz and Trump occurred over the phone while the president was in Hanoi, Vietnam to speak with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. "I was happy to do it for you. You just keep killing it," Gaetz was overhead saying to Trump.

"I was happy to do it for you. You just keep killing it," Gaetz was heard telling him.

Of course, a spokesperson for Gaetz told Dovere that the second term congressman doesn't discuss his conversations with Trump, and Gaetz now claims that what Dovere heard is totally "fake news," which is now a term that only means something is more than likely true.

Before Cohen's testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Gaetz tweeted to Cohen, "Do your wife & father-in-law know about your girlfriends? Maybe tonight would be a good time for that chat. I wonder if she’ll remain faithful when you’re in prison. She’s about to learn a lot..." However, after the tweet was deleted Gaetz then began to backpedal and he sent an apology to both Cohen and Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi.
To make matters worse, Gaetz, who is a licensed Florida attorney, is now being investigated by the Florida Bar for possible witness tampering, which is a felony. “If rules have been violated, The Florida Bar will vigorously pursue appropriate discipline by the Florida Supreme Court,” Walker said in a statement. “The Florida Bar takes its responsibility of regulating lawyer conduct very seriously.”
