Starting Wednesday, all SPCA Tampa Bay locations will waive adoption fees for the majority of “pocket pets” until Friday, June 30.
What’s a pocket pet? Well, essentially it what we're talking about is small pets, like birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and anything that could comfortably nap in a cozy hoodie pocket.
For a better idea, the SPCA Tampa Bay actually profiles all the available animals on their website, which currently features a lot of rats and bunnies.
According to a statement from SPCA Tampa Bay, no appointment is needed, adoptions will be limited to just two per person, and a carrier or appropriate housing for travel is required.
Fees are normally around $25.00.
The shelter is located at 9099 130th Ave. N in Largo, and is open Wednesday-Friday 1 p.m.-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon-6 p.m.
