Bob Buckhorn won't be at Friday's Tiger Bay Debate - but will debate Rose Ferlita on Florida This Week that night

This coming Friday was scheduled to be one of the last debates between Tampa mayoral candidates Bob Buckhorn and Rose Ferlita.  But it won't be now.

The Buckhorn camp says that their candidate will not be at previously scheduled event, to take place at Maestro's restaurant in the Straz Center, but instead will be serving food during the Feast of St. Joseph's at the Sons of Italy Hall.

For Tampa political junkies, all won't be lost that day.  The remaining candidates in the four Tampa city council races will also appear, and ready to take questions from the Tiger Bay audience.

We're not certain if that means there will be no more debates before next Tuesday's election.  Earlier on Tuesday, Rose Ferlita issued a press release announcing that she would be participating in a forum hosted by the Health Equity Coalition of Hillsborough County taking place this Thursday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Oval Theatre on the USF-Tampa campus.

Buckhorn spokesperson Beth Leytham says there will be one more debate between the candidates - that will be taped Friday afternoon at the studios of WEDU public television channel three on the Florida This Week program.  That will be moderated by the station's Rob Lorei and will air at 8:30 p.m. Friday night.
