In the financial hub of the South, Code Pink seeks to “bust up” the banks

Code Pink is in Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention in order to “Bust Up” the banking system.

Despite pouring rain, about ten activists with the movement posted in front of the Charlotte headquarters of Bank of America Tuesday, in their trademark hot pink shirts, shouting slogans against the financial giant.

As with many of the protests surrounding the DNC, the main focus was the merging of corporate money and politics. Though the Democrats are seen as the more progressive of the two parties, the fact that the Obama campaign seems to be in bed with the financial institutions is not sitting well with many of those present this week in the Tar Heel State.
