This morning, it would appear that the Republican Party has now lost the Senate, the House and the Presidency in what is arguably a massive rebuke of the Trump Administration’s four years of chaos. To mark this historic loss, the Hillsborough County Republican Party will gather at a Publix in Carrollwood Wednesday to wave flags and further deny their leader’s political shrinkage.
While many Trump supporters, white nationalists, QAnon conspiracy theorists, and other fringe far-right characters gather in Washington D.C today to “Save America,” local MAGA groups say they will join them remotely and do what they know best: waving flags on the side of the road.
So, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. the Hillsborough County Republican Party, which also witnessed sweeping defeats this fall, will gather at the corner of Dale Mabry and Lake Carrollwood Way, in front of the Carrollwood Publix. “If you can't get to DC or your State Capitol, support President Trump and the GOP reps who are continuing to fight for Election Integrity!” says a Facebook post from the group. “Will be there in spirit! Cannot in person as have broken leg & hip” said the only commenter.
Over in Pasco County, the Women’s Republican Club will also be waving flags in solidarity for Trump, not at a Publix, but near the corner of Kolsterman Road and US-19, from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m., which is near a RaceTrac gas station.
President Donald Trump, who only has two weeks left in the White House, tweeted that he would be joining today’s march in D.C.
