Michael Steele and the site selection committee for the 2012 Republican National Convention will wrap up their stay in the Tampa Bay area today.  Tampa's bid for the convention looks good.  Unfortunately for chairman Steele, he's probably seen better days than news that came out yesterday about spending by some RNC members;

While Michael Steele is at the Renaissance Vinoy today, Newt Gingrich will be there tomorrow.  CL contributor and Sierra Club member Cathy Harrelson wants the community to give the former House Speaker a warm, well, a welcome of some kind tomorrow night;

And the fissure between the state's GOP leadership and teachers unions resulted in Florida losing out on up to a billion dollars in federal stimulus money yesterday for education reform.  Can they kiss and make up?
