The Bureau of Labor Statistics today reported that the unemployment rate in the U.S. is at 7.9 percent for September, a notch about the 7.8 percent for August, but still under the symbolic 8 percent level which was where it was for much of the Obama administration.

Meanwhile, after all the criticism the Republican Party of Florida has endured for voting to reduce the amount of early voting days for this year's election, you didn't think they would go ahead and extend early voting on Sunday, did you?
Governor Rick Scott told reporters last night that early voting would end Saturday night. Both the Florida Democratic Party and the League of Women Voters asked the governor earlier yesterday to allow Sunday voting in counties with "high voter traffic." What you didn't hear from Scott, Adam Putnam and others was the uncontrolled laughing before they straightened up and said no dice.
