Habitat for Humanity Can Drive

Save your cans for Habitat's first ever aluminum can drive in conjunction with Pinellas Recycles Day. A recycling booth is set up at Largo Central Park during the festival, with a drop off site located nearby. Empty, bagged aluminum cans only, please. The park's at 101 Central Park Drive, Largo. N.E.A.T. Neighborhood Clean-Up

Volunteers are needed for the Wellswood neighborhood clean-up in Tampa. Those willing can meet at the Wellswood Playground, located at 4900 Mendenhall Drive. Residents must have trash ready for pickup at curbside by 8 a.m., and materials collected include furniture, TVs, mattresses and carpet. For larger items, call Solid Waste at 813-348-1111. Veterans Day Celebration
Monday, Nov. 12
Noon

The Central City YMCA Board of Directors invites everyone to this free annual celebration. Ceremony includes presentation of the flag by the Hillsborough High School JROTC, speeches from local veterans, and musical entertainment. A buffet luncheon concludes the celebration. Takes place at Central City YMCA, 110 E. Palm Ave., Ybor City. Call 813-251-6673.

Christmas Wish List
The Joshua House, a residential group care and emergency shelter facility, seeks donations for residents. The wish list includes information about the 60 children currently housed at the facility, along with items they might need or desire. Holiday Tribute Gift Program
The H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute Foundation offers this program as a meaningful way to recognize and honor family, friends, employees and clients. For a minimum of $25 per honoree, Moffitt will make a contribution in their name and send a personalized holiday gift card to each person announcing the donation. Brighter Seasons for Children
The AIDS Service Association of Pinellas Inc. (ASAP), a division of The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, seeks donations of toys, clothing or other items for girls and boys, newborns to age 18. All children receiving donations have parents who are HIV-positive or have AIDS. The holiday project, which began six years ago, hopes to fulfill two requests per child.
