Sh*t happened 2/12/15: Steinem honored, Bucs QB dropped, more

Iconic women's rights advocate and living legend Gloria Steinem was the first recipient of the Helen Gordon Davis Waves of Change Women's Leadership Award at a luncheon in Tampa. In her speech, Steinem, 80, emphasized the importance of exacting change in comparatively small communities. And you thought the bullshit rationalizations and smokescreens the define #gamergate were new, or special.

Remember Zombie Cat, the feline that was buried prematurely and climbed out of his grave five days later? His owner is suing the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for custody, following the nonprofit's assertion that it wouldn't return the cat after video evidence maybe implied not everybody in the family thought the cat was dead at the time of its burial. Here's a question: If your family buried you alive, for any reason — whether by honest accident or because "eh, last legs, sick of caring, probs gonna kick it anyway" — would you want them in charge of your convalescence?

Something something Tampa Bay Bucs terminated quarterback Josh McCown's contract something first-round draft pick may bring hotshot new QB yadda yadda the NFL is a gross, corrupt organization that cares about neither its fans nor its players, while both groups inexplicably continue to help fill its coffers so whatever GO TEAM.

And finally, rumors consistently suggest a one-day ticket to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom will soon top $100 — roughly doubling the theme park's cover in just over a decade. For a list of killer things to do in Florida that cost roughly $100 less than a trip to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, step outside and continue on until the concrete is replaced by grass or mud or sand or water, and keep going.
