Sh*t happened 6/10/15: Tampa DIY filmmakers are contest finalists, Hillsborough transpo still sucks

I know many of you are looking into the future (this evening, say around 8-ish) rather than dwelling on the past this morning, but we really should go ahead with the roundup, whaddaya say?

Two Bay area men, Zack Murray and Mark Mukherjee, are finalists in Canon's "Project Imagination" contest, in which entrants cut home video footage together with titles, music and credits to create their own movie trailers. Today is the last day for people to vote on their favorite trailers; famous people Ron Howard and Josh Hutcherson will take audience votes into consideration when choosing the ultimate winner. (So what's the conversion rate? Like, 10,000 normie votes equals half a celebrity vouch?)

According to a Tampa Trib article, Hillsborough County leaders are intent upon luring a Fortune 500 company to the area, but the woeful state of the county's transportation infrastructure is being seen something of an obstacle. "Ya think?!" respond the hundreds of thousands of people who have dealt with it for decades or a lifetime, and might be feeling more than a little like the ignored middle child between older sibling tourism and younger sibling new business these days.

And finally, the Rays got clobbered 8-2 by the Angels back at home yesterday. Well, at least no one's paying attention right this second...
