This past Sunday, Robin Chipman, a St. Petersburg resident, was faced with a choice from her condo complex — remove her gay pride flag, or face a fine.

Chipman told WFLA that Waterside At Coquina Key Condominium reached out with the notice after one of her neighbors complained, and she has until this coming Sunday to remove it (which is the final week of Pride month, by the way).

Chipman also told the news channel why the flag is important, and this issue shouldn’t be swept under the rug.

"I have friends and neighbors that are in the community.  And I want to show my support.  And it's only the biggest celebration in the state of Florida and most of the country. Bigger than New York and its probably comparable to San Francisco.  So, no it's not a small deal.

When CL reached out to Waterside at Coquina Key, management said they have "no comment at this time."
