There are certain things you should never do in Tampa Bay, like praise a Cuban sandwich without salami or swim at the Davis Islands Dog Beach, but most importantly, you should never illegally park in an area that will most certainly be underwater.
Last weekend, the Clearwater Police Department had to remind the public to pay attention to signs and barriers along the Courtney Campbell Causeway, after someone parked their sedan in a habitat restoration area.
“Always pay attention to signs and barriers that try to keep you from parking where you shouldn’t,” CPD wrote on Facebook. “Someone decided to park this morning in an area where you’re not supposed to park along the Courtney Campbell Causeway and then went for a walk. Then the tide came in. And this was the end result. A wrecker was waiting for low tide late afternoon to try to remove the car.”
Please, don’t be this person. Also, the nice thing about Tampa Bay is there are plenty of places to legally park your car, go for a walk, and still find it completely submerged, like say South Tampa or Shore Acres.
