WFTS has a camera on Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg where parts of the fabric on the roof of Tropicana Field have ripped off as Hurricane Milton rips through Tampa Bay.

Fire rescue told the station that no one is hurt, during the broadcast in the 11 p.m. hour.

PBS reports that the stadium is being used as a staging site for workers who are supposed to start piecing neighborhoods together after the arrival of the strongest hurricane to hit the Bay area in more than 100 years.

Wind gusts in St. Petersburg have reached up to 91 mph, according to WFLA.

Fears of a crane falling in downtown St. Petersburg officials’ fears of cranes endangering residents were also realized with one at 400 Central Ave. in downtown coming down onto a building, according to Bay News 9.
