A midcentury home designed by the same architect behind St. Petersburg's famed "Inverted Pyramid Pier" is now on the market in the Driftwood neighborhood.

Located at 230 Driftwood Rd. SE, the home was completed in 1949 for Florida Democrat legislator Charles J. Schuh, Jr. and his family, and was designed by celebrated local architect William B. Harvard Sr.

According to the listing, the 2,691-square-foot waterfront home now comes with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, as well as plenty of high-end upgrades, original hardwood floors throughout, a saltwater pool, a hot tub, a 122-feet of water frontage on Big Bayou, and more.

As a founding partner of Harvard Jolly Clees Toppe Architects (now Harvard Jolly Inc.), Harvard left behind an impressive list of few iconic Tampa Bay buildings before he passed away from cancer in 1995.

Besides the now demolished Inverted Pier, Harvard was also responsible for the Hospitality House at Busch Gardens, Derby Lane, the Federal Building in St. Petersburg, the Tides Hotel at Redington Beach, Pasadena Community Church, the St. Pete Beach Municipal Building, and the award-winning Municipal Pavilion and Bandstand in Williams Park, among others.

Coincidentally, Harvard's private home over in Allendale Terrace is also for sale right now.

But this particular Harvard house is currently asking $3.5 million, and the listing agents are Elizabeth Funk and Natalie Moore of Moore Creative Realty.
