An unspoiled dome-shaped time capsule from the '80s is now on the market in Florida.
Located at 10 NE 173rd Ter. in Miami, this rare geodesic dome home was built in 1985 and was "inspired by the vibrant energy of the World's Fair," says the listing. As you can see from the photos, that statement isn't too far fetched.
Often referred to as a "bubble house" or a "moon home," geodesic dwellings saw a brief bump in popularity in the '80s and were typically sold as kits. Though painstakingly annoying to decorate with normal right-angled furniture, the homes are arguably perfect for Florida: They're energy efficient, they can withstand extreme temperatures and they're designed to deflect hurricane-force winds.
This particular one is unusually large, with over 6,000-square-feet of living space. Featuring five bedrooms and four bathrooms, the dome home also comes with a photography dark room. a library loft, an indoor pool and sauna, and the most '80s kitchen you've ever seen.
The current asking price is $1,850,000, and the listing agent is Avraham Werde of Compass Florida,
