Hockey hall of famer Steve Yzerman's former Tampa home is now for sale

A waterfront home in Tampa that once belonged to not one, but two NHL greats, is now on the market on Davis Islands.

Located at 44 Martinique Ave., the Mediterranean-style home as built in 2007, and was purchased three years later by Detroit Red Wings star, NHL Hockey Hall of Fame legend, and former Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman.

According to property records, Yzerman and his wife Lisa purchased the home for $2.4 million and lived there until 2017, when the couple sold it to former Lightning  defenseman, and current all time leader in shots blocked, Daniel Girardi for $3 million.

Yzerman was the general manager for the Lightning from 2010-2019, and is widely credited as being the architect for the team's recent Stanley Cup winning teams. After selling the home to Girardi, he then moved in to a nearby Bayshore condo, which he later sold for $1.7 million before heading back to Detroit.

The 6,265-square-foot home no longer belongs to any famous hockey players, but it does come with four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as gas fireplace, a climate controlled wine cellar, a movie theater, a three-car garage, a boat lift and dock, and more.

The asking price is currently $5,999,000, and the listing agent is Scott Wolfe and Jeanne Wolfe of Smith & Associates.
