The Beths bassist Benjamin Sinclair travels the world, obviously (just look at his blog), and he’s really impressed with Tampa’s infrastructure.
“I saw the Amtrak train, and the lovely streetcar roll by today,” he told Tampa fans on Wednesday night during a short run through the band’s dry banter. “Light rail, heavy rail, the infrastructure, it’s all very nice.”
The New Zealand indie-rock superstars have built something quite nice itself, as evidenced by a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd packed into Ybor City’s Crowbar for a very sold-out show that featured opening sets by Tampa’s own Pohgoh and Atlanta pool-rock outfit Lunar Vacation.
