A fully-operational winery is now on the market in downtown Tarpon Springs.
Tarpon Springs Castle Winery, located at 320 E Tarpon Ave., just hit the market for $1.2 million. The sale includes the building, business and land, which features winery equipment, a bottling room, a tasting room, and a 1,150 square-foot owners’ suite with full kitchen and bath, according to the listing.
The winery, which is being listed by Deanna Sapp Phillips of Century 21 Coastal Alliance, previously hit the market in 2018 for $928,000.
Though it looks historic, the building was actually completed in 2001, and was designed to look like an 1820 federal building. The owners, Joseph and Diana Marks, worked with "the historical society of Tarpon Springs, the historical boards of Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, North Carolina to get the colors and details just right," reads the website.
Tarpon Springs Castle Winery opened in 2004, and at the time was the city's only grape-based winery (since their grapes are shipped from out of state). "Fine Wines Made In That Old World Tradition" was the motto, and over the years the couple has since grown the business to include a roster of events and live music, including a popular tasting program called "Wine Snobs."
